Fresh Start Recovery Centre operates as a not-for-profit, non-government Funded agency offering and utilizing the services of individuals and other agencies and organizations. These include the, The United Way of Calgary and Area, private individual donors, the Calgary Homeless Foundation, the Calgary Drop-In Centre, Oxford House, Native Addictions Services, and many others.



Our History: We were originally housed in the Midnapore district of Calgary from November 1992 until 1998 and were serving the needs of both men and women. Our facility at the present location opened in March 2002 with 21 beds for men. We have since increased this number to 28.

Our Mission: To provide treatment, support and shelter to “Recover Lives”. We aspire to see residents improve their quality of life and re-enter society with the confidence and independence necessary to sustain a healthy, happy and sober lifestyle.

Our Vision: To be recognized as a developer and provider of a leading edge, effective and innovative program in the treatment and support of individuals who suffer from addictions.

Fresh Start Recovery Centre was chosen for 2006, 2007 and 2008 as one of three finalists for the Donner Canadian Foundation Awards for Excellence in the Delivery of Social Services in the category of Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse In Canada.
